Thread veins, sometimes called spider veins, are those unsightly little veins that show up all over our bodies as we get older, and seem to be absolutely impossible to get rid of. The veins can be red, blue or purple, and up to 2mm in diameter; although generally, they’re much smaller than other veins. The treatment involves using a very fine needle to inject what’s called a ‘sclerosant’ solution, Fibroven, into the area of the thread veins. This solution should cause the thread veins to deteriorate and, eventually, disappear completely – leaving you with the youthful, clear complexion that you once had.
Despite involving needles, discomfort during micro-sclerotherapy really is minimal, and takes just 30-40 minutes during an average session. Undergoing frequent treatments during the course of several weeks can help to completely eradicate facial thread veins, and very little down time is needed between each session – in fact, you’ll be back to work almost straight away!
