New Uses for Dermal Fillers

lip enhancementAfter Botox wrinkle-relaxing injections, dermal fillers are the most popular injectable cosmetic treatment, with many women and men choosing them to improve their appearances.

The 2 most common uses for dermal fillers are in the face:

  1. Anti-ageing – filling deep lines, creases and wrinkles. Popular areas are the deep forehead creases, lines around the eyes and nose to mouth lines
  2. Lip enhancement – this is more a cosmetic treatment, offering patients the opportunity to add volume to the lip area to improve the visual appeal of the mouth, as larger lips are seen as very attractive

However, there are many, many other uses for dermal fillers that patients may not have considered.

New Uses for Dermal Fillers

Non-surgical rhinoplasty (nose job):
  • Enabling patients to improve the appearance of their noses without surgery. A faster and cheaper means of reshaping the nose. Filler can be added into the depression above the “bump” to produce a straighter-looking nose. The results are amazing
Cheekbone enhancement
  • Patients looking for a more sculpted profile can choose to have filler injected carefully into the cheek area. This produces youthful-looking higher cheekbones, adding definition to the face
Hand rejuvenation
  • Being exposed to the elements on a daily basis, the hands can appear to age faster than the rest of the body. Rejuvenation treatment with fillers can gently and effectively plump out thin, loose skin for younger looking hands
Feet treatments
  • Feet crammed into high heels or exposed in flip-flops can sometimes need a bit of help to look pretty. Having cosmetic treatments on the feet is an area receiving a lot of interest this summer. Fillers may be used to shape the feet and also provide additional cushioning for comfort when wearing shoes or stilettos – ideal for the red carpet or a big day!
