GMC to Ban Remote Botox Prescriptions

botoxThe GMC has announced that it will ban the practice of doctors prescribing Botox over the phone or internet (known as remote prescribing) without meeting the patient in person.

Sally Taber, director of the Independent Healthcare Advisory Service said:

“This is wrong, it’s breaking the law and it’s not acceptable.”

This means that the prescribing doctor will have to meet the patient face to face before they can prescribe botox, a move that has been welcomed by many, despite allegations that remote prescribing is quite widespread in the industry.

The General Medical Council (GMC) says new rules will be published later this week.

Doctor-Led Botox Treatments

However, there are many good doctors carrying out botox injections in full accordance with the law and industry guidelines.

Dr Barbara Kubicka has a highly reputable clinic based in Belgravia, where she meets clients, advises on treatment and carries out a range of skin procedures from botox anti-ageing injections and dermal fillers, to medical skin treatments for hyperhidrosis or threadveins.

She always consults in person and carries out the treatment herself, as well as providing all necessary aftercare that may be required.

Extensive Qualifications and Experience

After qualifying in medicine, Dr Kubicka completed a 2 year specialist post-graduate course at the prestigious College International de Medicine Esthetique in Paris and has since built up extensive experience in carrying out a range of skin treatments.

All treatments are personally carried out by Dr Kubicka herself, assuring patients of high standards of care and aftercare.
