Latest PRP Technology Arrives in London

clinicRenowned cosmetic treatments practitioner, Dr Barbara Kubicka, has proudly announced the latest new technology, now available in the Belgravia clinic in the heart of West London.

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. This new therapy makes use of the body’s own resources for a natural yet very powerful treatment therapy without the need for any artificial chemicals or medicines. It is a hypo-allergenic treatment, posing no risk of allergy.

Plasma is taken from the patient’s own stores and is purified with the special machine to produce a rich concentrate. Applied back into and into the patient’s skin, it stimulates natural healing and anti-ageing power.

How it Works

Human blood is made up of plasma, red and white blood cells and platelets.

The plasma is the liquid component of the blood and “carries” the other components. Red blood cells carry oxygen and remove carbon dioxide from the cells. White blood cells fight germs/infection and remove dead blood cells. Lastly, the all-important platelets are active in healing tissue including:

  • Increase tissue regeneration
  • Decrease inflammation
  • Increase collagen
  • Increase development of new blood cells

Normal blood has around 6% platelets. However, in PRP treatment, the concentrated plasma has around 94% platelets, so is incredibly rich in natural healing power.

PRP Therapy Options

Treatment is especially effective in

  • anti-ageing:
    • facial treatments e.g. fine wrinkles around the eyes, nose-to-mouth lines, wrinkles on the lips, dark circles around the eyes
    • loose, saggy skin on the face or body e.g. jowls, hand rejuvenation, natural neck lifting
    • smoother decolletage
  • acne scarring treatment on the face or body
  • hair loss
  • sports injuries (e.g. chronic tendon)
